Most Storm-Impacted Ventura County Beaches Reopened, Plus...

       Update--All but two Ventura County beaches that had been closed due to storm-related high bacteria levels are now open.

       After the latest testing conducted Monday and Tuesday by the Ventura County Environmental Health Division, a dozen beaches we declared safe from high bacteria levels and removed from the closure list.

       Only two remain closed because the latest testing showed the bacteria levels in the water still exceed state standards.

       Those two beaches that are part of the San Buenaventura State beach.

       They are Kalorama Street and San Jon Road.

       They will be retested on Monday, January 30th.





Santa Paula Police Seek Public Help In Finding Hit And Run Driver

    Santa Paula police are seeking public help in identifying the driver of a hit and run vehicle who seriously injured a pedestrian.

     The incident was reported Tuesday night, January 24th, shortly after 11 PM at the intersection of Harvard Boulevard and Palm Avenue.

     When first responders arrived at the scene, they found the male pedestrian in his 30's on the ground in the eastbound lanes of Harvard Boulevard.

     He was taken to VCMC with serious injuries.

     His current condition is unknown.

     Police say the driver of the white SUV that struck him was eastbound on Harvard as the pedestrian was crossing Harvard.

     They say the suspect vehicle just kept going eastbound.
