Man Who Sexually Abused Sister When They Were Children In Oxnard Sentenced

     Updated--The man convicted of the extensive sexual abuse of his sister when they were children living in Oxnard was sentence Thursday to 30 years in state prison.

     37-year-old Stephen Delacruz of San Diego had pleaded guilty earlier this year to a host of charges stemming from the sexual abuse of his sister when she was eight years old and he was 14 and 15 and they lived in Oxnard.

     The case went unreported until she went into the Oxnard police station in 2019 and said she had been raped by her brother when they were children.

     Initially this case was in juvenile court because of his age at the time of the crimes.

     But prosecutors waged a legal battle over new state laws to finally get it into adult court.

     Delacruz appealed but lost and that's when he pleaded guilty.
