2 Die In Tragic Series Of Events On The WB 118 Freeway Near Simi Valley

     The CHP says two people are dead in an unfortunate series of events on the 118 Freeway near Simi Valley Sunday morning.

     Shortly after 6 AM the CHP responded to a report of a traffic collision on the westbound 118 west of Rocky Peak.

     Officers found an empty 2020 Nissan Altima in the center median.

     As officers investigated they found a woman and a man down on the roadway west of the crash.

     Both were declared dead at the scene.

     The CHP believes the incident began when the 33-year-old Canoga Park woman crashed her Nissan and it ended up in the center median.

     They say she then got out of her vehicle and was standing in the left lane of the freeway when she was struck by a 2020 Triumph Truxton motorcycle ridden by a 54-year-old Simi Valley man.

     The motorcyclist was ejected by the impact with the woman and both he and the woman were killed.
