DUI Checkpoints In Ventura And Oxnard Net 4 Arrests

     DUI/Driver's license checkpoints were conducted this weekend in Ventura and Oxnard.

     Friday night in Ventura the checkpoint was held from 9 PM to 2 AM in the 4200 block of East Main Street.

     Ventura police say that 1167 vehicles went through the checkpoint while 492 drivers were contacted and screened.

     Of those drivers, one was arrested for DUI alcohol.

     Nine were cited for being unlicensed drivers while one was cited for driving under a suspended license and one other was cited for having an open container of alcohol in their vehicle.

     Two vehicles were towed for suspended license offenses.

     In Oxnard on Saturday night, the checkpoint was held from 7 PM to 1:30 AM on Victoria Avenue south of Wooley Road.

     Oxnard police say that 794 drivers were screened and three drivers were arrested for DUI.

     There were 22 drivers cited for operating a vehicle without a license or with a suspended or revoked license.
