Defendant Convicted By Ventura County Jury In Extensive Child Molestation Case Sentenced

     Updated--A Calabasas man convicted by a Ventura County jury of the extensive child molestation of two victims has been sentenced.

     47-year-old Micah Smith was sentenced Thursday to 63-years-to-life in prison.

     Prosecutors say he sexually abused the victims for years starting when they were six and nine years old.

     The crimes happened at homes in Oxnard and Thousand Oaks.

     The victims were members of his household.

     The convictions came in Smith's second trial.

     The first trial in 2023 ended in a mistrial because of a deadlocked jury.
