This Memorial Day was a deadly one on Ventura County streets, highways, and roadways.
Three people died in three separate crashes, one each day of the three-day weekend.
On Monday morning around 10:15 AM, a motorcyclist was killed in a two vehicle crash around on Highway 33 in the Los Padres National Forest.
The CHP says the motorcyclist, a 35-year-old Ventura man, was southbound on the 33 when a car that was on the northbound right shoulder made a U-turn to the southbound shoulder.
The motorcycle slammed into the right front passenger door of the car, killing the motorcyclist.
The two people in the car, a 65-year-old man and 66-year-old woman from Oak Park, were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The CHP says drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the collision.
Sunday night, a pedestrian was killed after being struck by two vehicles on Hueneme Road at Nauman Road just southeast of Oxnard.
And, Saturday morning, a Simi Valley man died when his motorcycle crashed on Los Angeles Avenue between Angus and Ralston in Simi Valley when he reportedly failed to negotiate a curve.
The CHP is investigating Sunday night's and Monday's fatal crashes, while Simi PD is handling the crash in their city early Saturday morning.
