Couple Charged With Wearing Girdles Stuffed With Stolen Merchandise From Camarillo Outlet Store

     The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man and woman they say were wearing specially designed girdles stuffed with merchandise allegedly stolen from a Camarillo Outlet store.

     The authorities had 61-year-old Jose Mujica of Van Nuys and 52-year-old Anyela Corredor Casallas of Los Angeles on their radar because of previous thefts from other Southern California stores totaling $4500

     That's why on December 17th the couple was caught at the Camarillo Outlets after leaving the Under Armour store.

     Detectives say a total of 17 pairs of jeans were stuffed in the girdle style devices the couple was wearing.

      It's also alleged that additional merchandise and tools used to defeat store security measures were found in their possession and in their vehicle.

     They were arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit organized retail theft, burglary, grand theft, and possession of burglary tools.

     On December 19th, both entered not guilty pleas to all charges and they denied all special allegations.

     They currently remain free, he on bail, she on her own recognizance, pending a court hearing on New Year’s Eve.
