Fire Causes Significant Damage To Ventura Home

     A fire caused extensive damage to a hillside single family home in east Ventura Thursday evening.

     The fire was reported shortly before 6:30 PM in the 1100 block of Horizon Drive.

     When firefighters arrived they found smoke and flames coming from the living area and attic.

     Crews from Ventura City and Oxnard City made an aggressive attack on the fire and had it under control about a half hour after they first arrived.

     The occupants of the home had already self evacuated and and were OK.

     No injuries were reported.

     The cause remains under investigation.
