The CHP in Ventura says one of their veteran officers caught a murder suspect in Oxnard Monday morning.
At 9:50 AM K-9 Officer Rolando Tejeda, a 16-year-veteran of the CHP, conducted a routine traffic stop for a registration violation on a vehicle on Oxnard Boulevard in Oxnard.
The CHP says during the traffic stop the driver provided a false name.
Officer Tejeda called for backup and following further investigation he determined the driver was actually a 28-year-old man wanted for a 2022 robbery-homicide in Alameda County.
The suspect was booked into the Ventura County Jail on a murder charge.
