Updated--The CHP has released the names of the fatal victims and more details about the Sunday afternoon crash on the 126 near Fillmore.
They say around 2:35 PM 27-year-old Eric Anthony Carrillo of Oxnard was driving his BMW 325i westbound on the 126 east of Spalding Drive when for reasons that are still under investigation he crossed over the double yellow lines into the eastbound lanes.
Carrillo's BMW collided head-on with a Smart Fortwo driven by 34-year-old Susanna Angeles of Fowler, California.
The CHP says Carrillo and Angeles were pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, after the initial collision, Carrillo's BMW continued westbound in the eastbound lanes where he struck another vehicle, a Chevrolet Avalanche driven by a 62-year-old Santa Clarita woman.
She and her passenger, a 57-year-old man from Acton, California, were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
A 25-year-old man who was a passenger in the Fortwo was ejected and taken to VCMC with major injuries.
The stretch of the 126 between Old Telegraph Road and Sycamore Road was closed in both directions for seven hours Sunday afternoon and evening.
The CHP says they don't know if drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash.
