After This Short Break, More Rain And Snow For Ventura County

     Updated--Ventura County should see a short break in the weather for Black Friday but more rain and snow is in the forecast for Saturday.

   Most of the measurable rain and snow will stay north of Ventura County, but we could get about a quarter inch of rain with the snow level at 7,000.

   But another, more significant storm, is due into Ventura County Tuesday and Wednesday.

   Thanksgiving Day saw rain, snow, hail, with a couple of thunderstorms, and high temperatures in the 40's and 50's in most areas.

    Interstate Five over the Grapevine is open but Friday afternoon there were snow flurries in the Gorman area but the snow was not sticking.

    Highway 33 north of the Ojai Valley in the Los Padres National Forest is is open but chains are required between mile markers 24 and 48 Friday afternoon.

   There were a few rock and mudslides, and some roadway flooding, but no major troubles because of the weather.

    There was a rash of weather-related crashes.

    Black Friday should see partly cloudy skies, cool temperatures, and a chance of a scattered shower or two.

    More rain and snow is in the forecast for Saturday.
