Ventura PD Investigates Thanksgiving Homicide
Thursday November 28, 2024
Major Crimes detectives for the Ventura Police Department are investigating a Thanksgiving morning homicide but they are not getting much help from those who know what happened.
Around 1:50 AM Thursday morning police received a report of a large fight and a stabbing downtown in the 300 block of East Main Street.
When officers arrived the fight had ended and the crowd was dispersing.
They found a 24-year-old male down in the street suffering from a stab wound.
Efforts to revive him failed and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say there were many witnesses to what happened leading up to the fatal stabbing but they are not cooperating with investigators.
So exactly what happened and why and who was responsible for the homicide remains under investigation.
Police are urging anyone who might have information to give them a call at (805) 650-8010.
