Ventura County DA Charges Woman With Murder In Fatal Fentanyl Overdose
Thursday March 06, 2025
The Ventura County District Attorney's Office has charged a San Fernando Valley woman with second degree murder in the death of a Ventura County man from a fatal overdose of fentanyl and another drug.
Prosecutors allege that 39-year-old Charity Faith Wiley of Reseda sold the drugs that killed the 28-year-old man at his home in the unincorporated area near Simi Valley in June of 2024.
An autopsy indicated the man died from a mixture of Fentanyl and Xylazine.
Xylazine is also known by its street name "tranq" because it is used by veterinarians as a tranquilizer, sedative, or anesthesia on animals.
Narcotics detectives allege that their investigation led them to Wiley as the source of the drugs.
Wiley is also facing a host of additional charges and special allegations related to illegal drug dealing.
She was in court Thursday but did not enter a plea.
Her arraignment was continued until March 13th.
Meanwhile, she remains in the Ventura County Jail with bail set at $750,000.
