Fire investigtators are looking at what they consider a suspicious fire that gutted one unit of a four-unit apartment building in West Ventura Wednesday morning.

The fire was reported at 8:52 AM in the 100 block of Kellogg Street near Ventura Avenue.

When firefighters arrived on the scene they found heavy smoke and flames coming from one unit of the single story building.

They were able to knock the fire down in less than a half hour and kept the fire damaged confined to that one unit.

     No one was injured.

Several people were displaced by the fire.
