Oxnard Man Dies In Solo Vehicle Crash Near Oxnard

     The CHP says that a 36-year-old Oxnard man died in a solo vehicle crash just outside the Oxnard city limits Saturday morning.

     Around 9:09 AM the CHP says the man had just completed making a left turn from eastbound Channel Islands Boulevard to northbound Rice Avenue when for unknown reasons he allowed his silver 2010 Nissan Sentra to veer off the right or east side of Rice Avenue and collide with an Edison utility pole.

     The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

     The CHP is continuing its investigation into what happened and they do not know whether drugs or alcohol were a contributing factor.

     The right lane of northbound Rice Avenue (which is also PCH in that area) was closed for almost four hours because of what happened.
