A former music teacher from Ventura who contracted with a number of school districts in Southern California was arrested Thursday for a host of crimes against children.
The United States Attorney's Office says 60-year-old John Edward Zeretzke of Ventura was indicted by a federal grand jury for both the production and receipt of child pornography, enticing or coercing a minor to engage in criminal activity and traveling to engage in illicit sex with a minor.
None of the alleged victims in this case were from Southern California.
Federal prosecutors allege that Zeretske forced a female juvenile to produce child pornography, tried to get another alleged victim to send him sexually explicit images, traveled to the Philipines to engage in illegal sex with another juvenile and twice received child pornography over the Internet.
If convicted on all the charges, Zeretske faces life in prison.
