The Second Suspected Coronavirus Case In Ventura County Also Turned Out To Be A False Alarm

Thursday February 13, 2020

The Ventura County Public Health Department says they finally got the test results from the second suspected coronavirus case in the county, and like the other case, they were negative.

That means there are no suspected or confirmed coronavirus cases in Ventura County.

The Public Health Department says they will continue to keep an eye out for any suspected cases and they now have the ability to test for the virus locally rather than at the CDC in Atlanta.

That will mean test results in hours rather than weeks.

They are asking anyone who recently traveled to China and have become ill with fever, cough, or shortness of breath, call (805)-981-5201.

The symptoms of the virus, now officially designated Covid19, can be like the flu, including runny nose, headache, cough, sore throat, fever, and shortness of breath.

Then again, you could just have the flu.

As a matter of fact, it's more likely that that you have.

Public health officials want to emphasize that right now in Ventura County the chances of contracting the coronavirus are very low.
