Oxnard Police Release Details Of Sunday Stabbing

Wednesday January 9, 2019

The Oxnard Police Department released details Wednesday of a stabbing incident that happened Sunday night.

They identified the suspect, 33-year-old Deysi Gonzalez-Palomares of Port Hueneme, and said she is in the Ventura County Jail where she was booked for Attempted Murder with bail set at $560,000.

She is due in court Thursday to be arraigned.

Police allege that Palomares stabbed her 35-year-old estranged husband several times as they sat in a vehicle in the 4000 block of South Victoria Avenue in Oxnard Sunday night.

They say she then fled the scene but was located later and found to be suffering from what police say were non-life threatening self-inflicted stab wounds.

Palomares was taken to the hospital where she was admitted for treatment.

Police say when she was released from the hospital Tuesday night, Palomares was taken to the Ventura County Jail.

They say Palomares and the victim are married with children but are estranged and living apart, her in Port Hueneme and him in Oxnard.

After the stabbing in the car, her husband was taken to the hospital for treatment, his condition is unknown.
