Suspect Questioned, Victim's Name Released, In That Fatal Vehicle Versus Pedestrian Incident In Oxnard

     Updated--The Oxnard Major Crimes detectives questioned a man in connection with a fatal vehicle versus pedestrian incident over the weekend.

   They say around 11:40 AM Saturday morning emergency personnel responded to the 1300 block of Bluebell Street and Mariposa Street regarding an injury traffic collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian.

   They found 30-year-old Ricardo Torres of Oxnard down in the roadway.

   He was taken to VCMC where he died.

   Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit responded and investigated the incident and determined there was an altercation between two men that led to the death of the pedestrian.

   They are conducting what amounts to a homicide investigation and they did question the 35-year-old Oxnard man they considered a suspect, but he was not arrested and was released pending further investigation.
