A Ventura County jury Monday convicted a professor at Moorpark College of misdemeanor sexual battery of a student.
Prosecutors say it happened on March 2, 2017 on the campus.
They say the victim was a female student of 52-year-old McKale Antonious of Sylmar.
The jury acquitted Antonious on a second misdemeanor charge of false imprisonment.
Prosecutors say that during his trial, they presented evidence of a second uncharged sexual battery on a female student by Antonious on the campus of Cal State Los Angeles in February of this year.
The Ventura County DA's Office says Antonious taught mathematics at various community colleges and universities in Southern California including College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, Cal State Northridge, Pepperdine, Santa Monica College, Coastal Community College, and Moorpark College.
He has also used other names including Zohair Isaac and Zohair Isshak.
Sentencing is set for July 5th.
Prosecutors wanted Antonious to be taken into custody pending sentencing but the judge denied that request and allowed him to remain free for now.
The DA's Office says anyone who might have information about Antonious is encouraged to contact DA's Investigator Kristina Bertilson at (805) 477-1677.
