The Ventura County Medical Examiner's Office has released the name of the man found dead in a house fire in Oxnard Wednesday.
They're also saying 37-year-old Jason Deits of Oxnard likely died from smoke inhalation in the attic of his house in the 600 block of South C Street.
The Oxnard Police Department is also saying they believe the fire was intentionally set.
Firefighters responded to that single story, single family home late Wednesday afternoon and found smoke pouring out of the attic.
Neighbors told them there was a man in the home who might be armed with a sword who was refusing to come out.
Firefighters worked quickly to knock down the fire and discovered Deits in the attic.
They backed off and police went in to check the house.
Police found a bloody room and then found Deits unresponsive in the attic.
Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
