Man Arrested For Trying To Lure Ventura Girl

Wednesday October 10, 2018

Ventura police say they've arrested a San Fernando Valley man for attempting to use the Internet to lure a Ventura girl into a sexual liaison.

They say on September 30th, the father of the 12-year-old girl contacted Ventura police to report that he believed his daughter had struck up a friendship with an adult male on the Internet.

Police investigated and identified the man as 36-year-old Jesus Alvarado of North Hollywood.

Alvarado continued to stay in contact with the girl and indicated he wanted to start a dating relationship.

Police say he knew she was 12-years-old.

Alvarado then arranged to meet the girl today (Wednesday) at 12:30 PM in the area of Cedar Street and Shoshone Street in west Ventura.

Police say he drove from North Hollywood to that location and was arrested by waiting police.

Alvarado was booked into the Ventura County Jail for lewd acts with a child and luring a minor for sexual purposes, both felonies.

Ventura police say if anyone has information about this case or any similar case, they should call Detective Alyse Quiroz at (805) 339-4413.
