A Ventura County jury has convicted an Oxnard man of murder and robbery in the shooting death of another man in June of 2012.
The panel spent less than two days before finding 25-year-old Daniel Alvarez guilty of First Degree Murder in the shooting death of 26-year-old Jorge Rodriguez of Oxnard.
The jury also found true the special circumstances allegation that the killing happened during a robbery.
Prosecutors say the murder was a case of mistaken identity.
They say Alvarez actually intended to kill Rodriguez's twin brother over a drug deal gone bad.
Alvarez will be sentenced on December 3rd and he faces life in prison with no chance for parole.
