The CHP investigation continues into the two vehicle crash September 6th near Ventura that resulted in the death of a little girl.

It happened around 8:43 AM on a stretch of Bristol Road east of Ermine that is an unincorporated area near Ventura.

The CHP says a 39-year-old Ventura woman was driving westbound on Bristol when for some unknown reason she crossed into the eastbound lane and collided head on into a vehicle traveling eastbound that was driven by a 58-year-old Ventura man.

A 5-year-old girl who was a passenger in the westbound vehicle was wearing a seat belt but was not in a child car seat.

She suffered major injuries and was taken to VCMC and ultimately airlifted to the UCLA Children's Hospital where, according to the CHP, she died three days later.

The 35-year-old woman who also a passenger in the westbound vehicle, was not wearing a seat belt and was taken to VCMC with major injuries.

The 39-year-old female driver of the westbound vehicle sustained minor injuries as did the 58-year-old man driving the eastbound vehicle.
