Ventura City Fire investigators are trying to determine what started a fire that destroyed an RV and several passenger vehicles in a storage yard.

Around 1:08 PM Tuesday the Fire Communication Center started receiving a number of 911 calls about a fire in a storage yard in the 2600 block of North Ventura Avenue in west Ventura.

When firefighters arrived on the scene they found a large RV and multiple passenger vehicles on fire.

They checked to make sure there were no occupants that needed rescue and then began to attack the fires.

Firefighters had the flames knocked down and extinguished the main body of the fire in about 23 minutes after the first 911 call.

The estimated damage to the RV and other vehicles was about $75,000 with personal losses estimated to be another $10,000.
