A large pile of trash, mulch and recycables caught fire Thursday in Saticoy putting up a large plum of smoke into the midday sky.
It happened around noon at the recycling center on 1905 Liro Avenue.
The pile is as high as 50 feet and covers a large area.
Firefighters brought in several engine companies along with a ladder truck and a specialized engine that is normal used to fight aircraft fires in order to put the fire out.
They also used bulldozers and other equipment in that effort.
The main impact from the fire is the smoke and any traffic it might cause on surrounding streets.
How the fire started is unknown and there were no injuries reported.
