Charges Filed Against Camarillo Teen Accused Of Roadway Rampage

Sunday May 13, 2018

The Camarillo teenager accused of a roadway rampage last Thursday night that injured a CHP officer is facing a host of charges.

18-year-old Carlos Lozano is accused of taking his mother's car at their apartment complex on Paso Camarillo, using it to crash into several parked cars and trying to run down his parents before getting on the southbound 101 Freeway where he was involved in what the authorities say were several more deliberate hit-and-run crashes that ended with the one that injured the CHP office near the top of the Conejo Grade.

Lozano had been hospitalized for two days before being booked into the Ventura County Jail Saturday with bail set at $250,000.

Lozano is facing several counts of felony assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor hit-and-run driving.

There were no serious injuries in Thursday's incident but it did create an hours-long traffic jam on the southbound 101 on the Conejo Grade.
