Update--"Hill Fire" that started in Hill Canyon north of Thousand Oaks and has burned west across the 101 Freeway has 101 on Conejo Grade closed in both directions, concern about Vallecito Mobile Home Park, Camarillo Springs, and Cal State Channel Islands.  Mandatory evacuations in those areas. 8,000 to 10,000 acres burned, 4,000 structures threatened.

Brushfires have broken out in the Hill Canyon area near Newbury Park and another near Rocketdyne south of Simi Valley.

The fire in Hill Canyon has multiple spots but the one they are most worried about is moving west towards the Conejo Grade and they are concerned it will burn across the grade towards the Camarillo Springs community.

It has burned 8,000 to 10,000 acres and is threatening 4,000 structures along the 101 Conejo Grade corridor.

Mandatory evacuations for the Camarillo Springs, Vallecito Mobile Home Park and Cal State Channel Islands.

Meanwhile, a fire broke out near Rocketdyne south of Simi Valley.

Called the Woolsey Fire, it has burned several hundred acres and firefighters are taking a defensive mode.

They are worried this fire could burn towards Oak Park east of Thousand Oaks.

They've ordered a large number of fixed-wing air tanker to help the water-dropping helicopters.

Santa Ana winds are forecast through Friday.
