Officials say that attendance at this year's just-concluded Ventura County Fair was up slightly compared to last year.
They say that attendance for the 12-day event that ended Sunday in Ventura was 302,783 which was 1.26 percent above last year's fair.
It was not a record but an increase over last year.
Fair officials say good weather and free popular concert acts that packed the grand stand arena helped to bring people to the fair.
They say traditional fair activities like competitive livestock and horse shows, agricultural exhibits, community displays and exhibits all contribute to the fair's popularity.
Nearly 16,000 Ventura County residents entered arts and crafts projects in competitive exhibits.
They say the food was also a draw with some interesting, off-beat, but tasty treats.
The fair employs up to 700 seasonal staff.
Planning for the 2020 Ventura County Fair is already underway.
