The Ventura County Sheriff's Department says they've made an arrest in connection with the death of an inmate at the Pretrial Detention Facility in Ventura earlier this month.

On September 11th, 53-year-old Jeffrey Kibler of Ventura was found in the dayroom of his housing unit suffering from beating injuries and he died a few hours later at VCMC.

An autopsy determined that Kibler died from blunt force trauma and his death was ruled a homicide.

The Ventura County Major Crimes Unit investigated and arrested 34-year-old Daniel Fuller of Ventura, who is also an inmate, for Kibler's death.

They allege that Fuller battered Kibler in the dayroom the day Kibler died.

Fuller, who was originally in the jail for violating the terms of his Port Release Offender Supervision for vehicle theft and resisting arrest convictions, remains in the Pretrial Detention Facility.

He is now charged with second-degree murder and his bail was set at $2 million.
