Two 12-year-old girls reported being battered by a group of 5-6 male and female juveniles ages 13-16 while they were all "hanging out" in a secluded wooded area in the 6100 block of Doubletree Road in Oak Park.

Deputies say the 16-year-old boy was a theft suspect trying to flee and the woman was standing in front of his vehicle trying to stop him when he ran her down causing life-threatening injuries. It happened Friday night, one day after the boy had received his driver's license.
He was found Saturday at Lake Isabella in Kern County and was safe and reunited with his family
